Strengthening Georgia Agriculture Through Smart Policy and Rural Investment
Agriculture is the backbone of Georgia’s economy. Our farmers feed our state, drive rural job growth, and preserve the land that makes Georgia what it is. But for too long, state policy has failed to protect our agricultural communities from rising costs, foreign threats, and outdated regulations.
My platform is built around supporting Georgia farmers, strengthening rural economies, and ensuring our farmland stays productive and in Georgia’s hands.
Here is how my policies work together to lift up Georgia agriculture:
Protecting Georgia Farmland From Foreign Adversaries
Georgia’s farmland is a strategic asset, and it must be protected.I will fight to restrict the sale of agricultural land to adversarial nations and foreign-influenced entities, ensuring that:
Georgia farms remain owned by Georgia families and Georgia businesses.
National security threats cannot gain a foothold in our food supply chain.
Rural communities stay in control of their land and local economy.
This is simple: Georgia farmland should never become a geopolitical bargaining chip.
Unlocking New Markets Through Legal, Regulated Hemp and Cannabis
Georgia farmers deserve the freedom to grow high-value crops that can transform rural economies.
By legalizing and regulating cannabis and hemp, we can:
Create new agricultural markets worth hundreds of millions annually.
Allow Georgia farmers to diversify crops and increase profitability.
Keep production local instead of letting out-of-state growers dominate the Southeast.
Attract processing facilities, distribution centers, and manufacturing jobs to rural counties.
Georgia farmers are some of the most capable in the country. They should be able to compete in and benefit from this growing industry.
Fairer Taxes for Rural Landowners & Agricultural Families
Property taxes hit rural Georgians hard. Especially landowners and family farms.
My plan to use cannabis and sports-betting tax revenue to expand homestead credits and provide targeted relief will help:
Family farms keep more of what they earn.
Rural homeowners stay on land that has been in their families for generations.
Agricultural communities strengthen their local economies instead of watching dollars drain out through property taxes.
Lower property taxes mean more investment in equipment, livestock, labor, and land. This strengthens Georgia agriculture at its foundation.
Stabilizing Rural Housing Through Voluntary Rental Incentives
Rural counties struggle with limited rental housing, rising rents, and workforce shortages. My voluntary rental program, which eliminates property taxes on participating rental units when landlords cap rents at fair, income-based levels — will help rural areas by:
Encouraging more affordable housing for farm workers and rural families.
Stabilizing communities where rising housing costs make it hard to attract labor.
Supporting small-town landlords and local economies without heavy mandates.
Affordable, stable housing is essential to a healthy rural workforce.
Reestablishing the Consumer Utility Counsel to Protect Rural Ratepayers
Utility costs can make or break agricultural operations. Georgia is one of only three states without a Consumer Utility Counsel — an advocate that fights unfair rate hikes.
Bringing it back means:
Farmers and agribusinesses have a watchdog fighting for reasonable energy costs.
Rural households get protection from unnecessary utility increases.
The PSC faces stronger accountability and transparency.
Lower, fairer utility rates make Georgia farms more competitive.
A Better Future for Georgia Agriculture
My policies are built to strengthen, protect, and grow Georgia’s agricultural sector by giving farmers:
More crops to grow
More markets to sell into
Lower taxes
Fairer utility costs
More affordable rural housing
Protection from foreign land-buying threats
Georgia farmers feed our state — and they deserve leadership that fights for them.
